Fedorov: Ukraine first to systematically scale up remote control of interceptor drones over long distances
Ukraine is the first country in the world to systematically scale up remote control of interceptor drones, with such drones now able to be operated from as far as 1,000 kilometers away, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said.
"A year ago, through Brave1, we initiated the development and testing of remote-control technology for interceptor drones. Today we have a confirmed result – targets hit at distances of hundreds and thousands of kilometers. Ukraine is the first country in the world to systematically scale up remote control of interceptor drones," he said on Telegram.
Fedorov said a drone pilot is no longer tied to a specific position and can now control interceptors from a secure environment in Kyiv, Lviv or even abroad. According to him, this increases interception efficiency, minimizes risks for operators and makes it possible to scale capabilities without being tied to the frontline.
More than ten manufacturers have already integrated this solution into their systems.
