Zelenskyy says Russia has many sick ideas, hopes Belarus not drawn into them
Russia has many different sick ideas, and it would be undesirable for Belarus to be drawn into these fantastic ideas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, commenting on the possibility of an offensive from Belarus.
"Regarding the threat of an offensive from Belarus. Look, the Russians have many different sick and fantastic ideas. So it is very undesirable for Belarus to be drawn into these fantastic ideas, for them to turn into a terrible reality," Zelenskyy told journalists on Thursday.
Earlier, Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Kyrylo Budanov said Ukrainian intelligence agencies are monitoring the situation in Belarus regarding heightened threats, and nothing will catch Ukraine by surprise.
Asked whether Belarus could become more involved in the war against Ukraine and whether there is currently a heightened threat from that side, Budanov said: "Anything is possible in life."
