Ukrainian intelligence agencies are monitoring the situation in Belarus regarding heightened threats, and nothing will catch Ukraine by surprise, Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Kyrylo Budanov said.

Asked whether Belarus could become more involved in the war against Ukraine and whether there is currently a heightened threat from that side, Budanov said: "Anything is possible in life."

However, there are intelligence agencies monitoring the situation, he said.

"There are certain signs of threats, they may exist. This cannot be ruled out. What this means – as a former head of military intelligence I can tell you: vigilance must be increased, first of all by the intelligence agencies. They have already done this. Don’t worry. Nothing will happen by surprise," he said on the sidelines of the Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
