Govt allocates UAH 987 mln to Kyiv for priority winter preparations – Svyrydenko
The government of Ukraine has allocated UAH 987 mln to Kyiv for priority measures to prepare for the next winter and ensure uninterrupted heat supply, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said, noting that the government is working in dialogue with city authorities.
"The government, for its part, has already allocated UAH 987 mln for priority measures and is ready to continue providing full support. At the same time, we expect timely decisions from the city and the organization of work at facilities defined as the responsibility of local authorities," she posted on Telegram on Wednesday.
Svyrydenko said that the work must be completed on time and in full.
According to her, "the government is helping Kyiv prepare for the next winter and ensure uninterrupted heat supply. We are working in dialogue with city authorities. We coordinated actions within the framework of the Resilience Plans."
Svyrydenko said that due to significant damage to CHPs, the city must prepare its infrastructure now to provide people with heat and light steadily, even under shelling. "The key task is to cover the needs of all districts with alternative energy sources and protect critical facilities. Part of the work will be performed by the Restoration Agency, part by the city on its own," she said.
