Russia strikes lead to significant power outages in Sumy region, electricity situation there most difficult – Ukrenergo

As a result of Russia’s drone attacks on energy infrastructure, the situation in Sumy region is the most difficult as of Wednesday morning, where a significant number of consumers are de-energized due to damage to energy facilities, National Power Company (NPC) Ukrenergo has said.

New power outages were also recorded over the past day in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions. Emergency recovery works have already begun wherever security conditions allow, the company posted on Telegram.

At the same time, electricity consumption shows a downward trend: as of Wednesday morning, its level was 5.7% lower than at the same time on Tuesday. Ukrenergo attributes this to clear weather throughout the country, which ensures the efficient operation of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general grid.

Given the weather conditions, it is advisable to shift active energy consumption to the period of the most efficient operation of solar power plants – from 11:00 to 16:00. Please limit the use of powerful appliances from 18:00 to 22:00, the system operator urged.

No scheduled power outages are planned for Wednesday, as reported.
