Ukraine fulfilled all obligations, EU requested resumption of transit - Sybiha on Druzhba
Ukraine has received a request from the European Union to resume transit via the Druzhba oil pipeline, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said at a meeting with journalists.
"We have fulfilled all our confirmations and commitments. Everything is completed. There is a date, and the infrastructure is repaired. I want to be very careful here because I believe the main artificially created obstacle—the Hungarian one—has been removed. Now we need to move forward together so that Ukraine receives the loan [EUR 90 billion from the EU]. We also received a request from the European Union regarding the resumption of transit," the minister said.
The minister recalled the existence of a European energy strategy through the end of 2027.
"Therefore, we proceed from this paradigm," he added.
Ukraine has repaired the damaged section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday, April 21.
