Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said he has already had text communication with Anita Orban, who will become the new head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.

"I have already had a text exchange with Anita Orban. We are ready to open a new page with the Hungarian side and are interested in this. We are ready to discuss the entire spectrum of issues on our agenda constructively, reasonably, based on European standards," he said at a meeting with journalists.

Ukraine is ready to continue mutually beneficial constructive cooperation for the sake of both nations and for the sake of a common European future, Sybiha stressed.

"This is our signal. And we have passed such a signal to the Hungarians," the minister added.

Future Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar earlier named seven of the 16 ministers who will serve in his government.

In particular, Magyar confirmed the appointment of Anita Orban, an energy expert and former head of Vodafone, as foreign minister. Anita Orban, who is not related to former Prime Minister Viktor Orban, broke ties with the ruling Fidesz party after it came to power in 2010, partly due to concerns over Orban’s policy based on the import of Russian energy resources.
