Air defense eliminates 189 of 215 enemy UAVs
The defense forces eliminated 189 of 215 enemy drones, however hits by 24 strike UAVs were recorded at 13 locations, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
"According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 189 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Herber, Italmas and other types in the north, south and east of the country," the statement said.
In total, overnight into April 22 (from 18:00 on April 21), the enemy attacked with 215 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Herber, Italmas and other types from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo - Russia, and Chauda - temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, around 140 of them Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces.
Meanwhile, hits by 24 strike UAVs were recorded at 13 locations, and debris falls at six locations.
The attack is ongoing and enemy UAVs are present in airspace, the air command added.
