Silence minute in Kyiv to be announced daily at 9:00 via loudspeakers – official

Kyiv is completing testing for the announcement of the nationwide minute of silence via the alert system loudspeakers; every day at 9:00, a short voice message announcing the start of the minute of silence sounds where technically possible, the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KSCA) has said.

"More than 400 alert points are already operating. The system update is ongoing, so the list of locations will gradually be expanded," the KSCA stated on Telegram on Tuesday.

The press service notes that issues with volume or recording quality should be reported via the 1551 contact center, the 1551 mobile application, or by calling 1551.

Since 2025, the minute of silence has been announced on Khreshchatyk and Maidan Nezalezhnosti, at 19 metro stations, and in surface transport. Notifications are also sent via the Kyiv Digital application. The message also appears in advertising spaces and on screens at metro stations.
