7th Air Assault Corps: AFU stopping Russia's attempts to establish foothold in center and north of Hryshyne in Pokrovsk agglomeration
Russian forces in Hryshyne, Dobropillia district, Donetsk region, are increasing pressure and attempting to advance, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine are stopping Russia’s attempts to establish a foothold in the center and north of the settlement, the press service of the 7th Air Assault Corps reports.
"The situation in Hryshyne is escalating. Russia has increased pressure on the settlement and is trying to develop an offensive. Ukrainian military personnel are preventing Russia from establishing a foothold in the central part of the village," the 7th Air Assault Corps stated on Telegram on Monday.
It is reported that the Defense Forces recently conducted an operation to destroy an enemy accumulation point. "Waiting for a favorable moment, our warriors launched an airstrike on a concentration of Russians. As a result of the strike, the liquidation of at least 3 occupiers was confirmed. Also, according to available information, some Russian military personnel remained under the rubble in the basement without the possibility of extraction," the press service reported.
According to the press service, Russia continues to press toward the north of the village. "To do this, it is trying to bypass Hryshyne using open terrain and forest belts from the southwest direction. In this way, Russia seeks to establish a foothold on the northern and northwestern outskirts," the report states.
"Recently, Russia tried to break through this route using an armored personnel carrier. The Defense Forces destroyed the enemy ‘taxi’ along with the personnel, thwarting the attempt for further advancement," the Air Assault Forces said.
