Baku and Ankara have assessed the current gas supply situation and agreed to speed up work on creating two green energy corridors through Turkish territory, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan reported.

"The discussions took place during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and his Turkish counterpart Alparslan Bayraktar in Turkey within the framework of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The parties discussed global energy security and the bilateral energy agenda, including the export of hydrocarbons and green energy," the report stated.

Meeting participants evaluated the current state of affairs regarding gas supplies.

"The development of the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Europe and Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Bulgaria green energy corridor projects was also reviewed. An agreement was reached to accelerate them," the statement said.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed holding the next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Energy Forum in Azerbaijan this year.

Following the meeting, Bayraktar wrote on X that Azerbaijan and Turkey aim to expand energy cooperation through new projects and long-term partnerships.

"In a period of increasing global uncertainty, we have once again confirmed that the energy partnership between Turkey and Azerbaijan plays a critically important role not only for the two countries but also for ensuring the energy security of Europe," Bayraktar noted.
