City council deputy found dead in Primorsky district of Odesa, preliminary version is suicide

Odesa police are establishing the circumstances of the death of a city council deputy whose body was found in a car on Monday morning in the Primorsky district of the city.

"It has been preliminarily established that he could have committed suicide using a firearm," the National Police told the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

The name and party affiliation of the deputy are not reported. There is also currently no information on which specific street he was found. Law enforcement officers report that the event occurred on Monday, April 20.

An investigative-operational group of the police is working at the scene, and all circumstances of the incident are being established.
