Rada proposes state program to support volunteers and community recovery

People’s Deputies have proposed that the Verkhovna Rada appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers to develop and approve a state program titled "Strength of Volunteers – Community Recovery," including dedicated funding from the state budget.

Draft resolution No. 15178, regarding the appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers, was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, according to the parliament’s website.

As noted in the explanatory note to the document, parliamentarians propose that the program include subventions to local budgets for the implementation of volunteer initiatives. Specifically, this involves financing logistics costs, supporting training, recruiting specialists, and providing certification and insurance for volunteers.

The proposal also includes creating coordination platforms and developing special measures to involve war veterans in volunteer activities for community restoration, including psychosocial support programs, retraining, and the recognition of their combat experience. Separately, the draft provides for the introduction of legal and organizational mechanisms to attract foreign volunteers, simplifying their registration and ensuring legal protection during their stay in Ukraine.

According to the authors of the draft resolution, the "Strength of Volunteers – Community Recovery" program will ensure the support, coordination, and development of volunteer initiatives in the process of restoring Ukraine’s infrastructure.

The authors of the draft resolution include Volodymyr Kreydenko (Servant of the People faction) and Oleksandr Sukhov (Dovira group).
