Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defenses, joint projects, and accelerating supplies of missiles for IRIS-T systems and F-16s.

"I held a meeting with Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch, a leading German manufacturer of weapons and air defense systems. We discussed specific solutions to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and develop joint projects," Fedorov said on Telegram on Thursday.

According to Fedorov, the sides also discussed increasing and accelerating supplies of missiles for IRIS-T systems. "These solutions have already proven their effectiveness in combat conditions and are an important part of the multi-layered sky protection system. We also discussed the development of missile projects for F-16s and the possibility of testing new solutions in Ukraine," Fedorov added.

The sides separately discussed supplies of extended-range ammunition with EU support, as well as the development of radar and anti-ballistic defense solutions.

"I am grateful to Diehl Defence for the solutions provided and its readiness to expand cooperation. This is systematic work that strengthens protection of the Ukrainian sky and enhances Europe's security," the Ukrainian defense minister said.
