Student fires pistol during lesson and wounds classmate in Zakarpattia
In one of the educational institutions of the Uzhhorod district, a student fired a pistol and wounded a classmate, the National Police reports.
On its Telegram channel on Thursday, the National Police informs that at 09:30, a report was received via the 102 emergency line stating that a 9th-grade student had threatened participants in the educational process.
"The minor suddenly pulled out a pistol during a lesson and fired two shots—wounding one of his classmates with one of them," the report says.
According to the police, the boy then fled in an unknown direction. Patrol police officers detained him.
Police units are currently working at the scene. Medics examined the victim; his life and health are not in danger.
"The police seized the pistol - preliminarily, a traumatic one," the police emphasize.
Investigators and juvenile police are clarifying all circumstances, including how the weapon fell into the hands of the minor.
The issue of the legal qualification of the event is being decided.
