Russians strike Dnipro, buildings and dormitories of two universities damaged - mayor
Russians attacked two universities in Dnipro overnight on Wednesday, April 15, Mayor Borys Filatov said.
"Academic buildings and student dormitories of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology and the Polytechnic were damaged. The attack and its blast wave also affected around three dozen residential buildings nearby. Over 1,000 windows were shattered in total. The rest of the damage is still being assessed," Filatov wrote on Telegram.
He stressed that there are no military targets in the vicinity.
"Tents have now been set up at the sites, where district administration representatives are accepting applications from residents for the state Vidnovlennia program. Volunteers and all necessary city services are working. Utility workers began clearing streets of debris and glass before dawn. I am also in contact with the rectors. Although the universities are not subordinate to local government, the city hall will help with stabilizing the damaged buildings," Filatov added.
