Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov believes anti-drone nets are incapable of protecting the city from the main types of weapons Russian forces use in air attacks.

"Anti-drone nets will not be a panacea for Kharkiv. The city is being attacked with Shahed UAVs, guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles, and no such net is capable of stopping these types of weapons," the press service said citing Terekhov.

According to him, anti-drone nets are effective in protecting against Lancet-type kamikaze drones, which the Russian armed forces mainly use near the front line. Cases of Lancet strikes on Kharkiv are isolated.

Terekhov also said that thanks to air defense, it has been possible to avoid a much greater number of strikes on the city, allowing Kharkiv to live and work.
