Zelenskyy: Domestic weapons production capacity double what we use
Ukraine weapons production capacity is twice the volume currently being utilized due to insufficient funding, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"The capacity is twice as large as what we use. Our Ukrainian production is twice as large. We simply lack the money," Zelenskyy said in Berlin at a joint press conference with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.
The President noted that this was partially discussed during the meeting, and Ukraine expects Germany to help unlock EUR 90 billion, so that Ukrainian production can be supplemented with investments, then the volume of product used on the battlefield will be even greater.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Europe and NATO countries need Ukraine and its strong army.
"Because nobody needs a Ukrainian army-light… Therefore, I believe this is a bilateral interest," he added.
