Svyrydenko: Ukraine opens its first agrohub in Ghana as part of Food from Ukraine initiative

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that Ukraine has opened the first agrohub in West Africa (Ghana) as part of the Food from Ukraine initiative.

"Despite the war, Ukraine remains the guarantor of global food security. And at the same time, it offers a new model of cooperation – not only supplying grain but also creating new opportunities for partners. Ukraine has opened the first agricultural hub on the African continent – in the Republic of Ghana. As part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Food from Ukraine initiative, a Food Processing and Distribution Center has opened," Svyrydenko wrote on her Telegram channel.

According to her, the agrohub was created by Ukrainian agribusiness in cooperation with the government of Ghana as a result of agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine conference in November 2025.

"This is a new format for our global presence, where humanitarian support is combined with the development of partnerships and the local economy. Ukrainian products will be combined with local ones, forming food baskets and ensuring their distribution. The next stage is the development of processing, packaging, and portioning directly in Ghana," the prime minister wrote.

According to her, the first kits already included locally produced rice and pasta made in Ghana from Ukrainian flour.

"During the opening, 4,000 food packages were distributed to the most vulnerable segments of the population, including Ghanaian widows," Svyrydenko said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine views Ghana as an important partner in West Africa for humanitarian support and trade development on the continent’s west coast.
