Enemy attacks kill four and wound 16 in Kherson region over the past day – police
Four people were killed and 16 wounded in Kherson region over the past day, including two medical workers, the National Police reported on the results of April 13.
"In Kherson region, four people were killed and 16 wounded as a result of Russian aggression, including two medical workers. Kherson region police are recording further crimes by the occupants against the civilian population. Russian forces once again shelled de-occupied settlements of Kherson and Beryslav districts with artillery, mortars, tactical aviation and UAVs," reads the National Police statement on its website on Tuesday.
It is reported that occupation forces struck one of the settlements of Beryslav city community with guided aerial bombs. Russians shelled Komyshany. A 64-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were wounded. Both sustained blast injuries, fragmentation wounds to the torso and concussions. A private residence was damaged.
In Osokorivka, the enemy struck a private residence with an FPV drone, killing an 89-year-old woman. In Chereshenky, a munitions drop from a UAV onto a vehicle killed a 40-year-old man and wounded two others. Men aged 26 and 32 sustained mine-blast injuries. The vehicle burned down.
Police recorded damage to 35 facilities: three apartment buildings and 13 private residences, a critical infrastructure facility, an administrative building, a dormitory, an emergency medical vehicle, nine civilian cars, two garages and gas pipelines.
In Dniprovsky district of Kherson, a UAV munitions drop onto a vehicle left a 65-year-old man with blast and traumatic brain injuries, concussion, and fragmentation wounds to the head and limbs. A passenger of the vehicle was also killed; his identity is being established.
In the evening, the occupants struck another civilian vehicle with an FPV drone, killing a 58-year-old man. Two more vehicles were damaged in further attacks. Shortly after, a drone operator attempted to strike yet another vehicle traveling on a highway. Attempting to escape the drone, a 22-year-old driver lost control and collided with a utility pole. He sustained back bruising. His 20-year-old passenger suffered a traumatic brain injury, bruising to various parts of the body and abrasions.
An emergency medical crew responding to a call came under FPV drone attack. Two medical workers aged 35 and 59 were wounded. Both sustained blast injuries and concussions. The special vehicle was damaged.
Russian forces dropped explosives from a drone in a residential area of the Shumensky neighborhood. Six people aged 42 to 84 were wounded in the strike. Three women and three men were diagnosed with blast and traumatic brain injuries, concussions and fragmentation wounds to various parts of the body. Two vehicles were damaged. An FPV-type drone strike also damaged another vehicle.
In addition, an 83-year-old resident of the Shumensky neighborhood sought medical assistance after being wounded in an enemy artillery shelling on April 7. The woman was diagnosed with a blast injury and concussion.
Over the past day, police responded to 396 applications and reports from citizens regarding criminal offenses and other incidents. Twenty-five proceedings were opened under article 438 "War crimes" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
