Zelenskyy on heating season preparations: There are issues with Lviv, Volyn, Odesa regions and Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy drew attention to several regions falling behind in implementing resilience plans for the upcoming heating season, specifically Lviv, Volyn and Odesa regions and Kyiv, and stressed that personal responsibility for this rests with each region.

He made the statement following a report by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Tuesday morning.

"We discussed in detail with the prime minister the state of implementation of resilience plans for our regions and major cities. A total of 368 facilities are already underway – this primarily concerns updating protection. We see, unfortunately, that some regions are falling behind the schedule set for specific results before the start of the new heating season. There are issues with work in Lviv, Volyn and Odesa regions and in Kyiv," Zelenskyy wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, he and Svyrydenko agreed to return to the format of conference calls involving all necessary government officials, regional and community heads, law enforcement and military command responsible for covering the facilities.

"The task is a national one - to fully implement the approved resilience plans within the set timeframe. This is about protecting people, and responsibility for it will be personal in each region," Zelenskyy stressed.

The president noted the importance of the energy system operating stably and without restrictions. "I am grateful to everyone who ensures protection and increases generation. We also count on new agreements with our partners on the supply of equipment for energy facilities – this must be achieved this week," he wrote.
