The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is responding to the aftermath of the Russian drone attack in Sumy last night.

"The URCS rapid response team in Sumy region immediately joined the response to the aftermath of the nighttime attack and worked alongside other rescue services," the URCS reported on Facebook on Saturday.

Volunteers went door-to-door through damaged buildings, identifying victims and providing first aid. They also provided psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

Currently, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues its work on the ground: building materials have been distributed to families whose homes were damaged and psychological support is being provided. Furthermore, URCS volunteers are informing residents about the risks associated with explosive remnants.

As reported, two Russian drone strikes hit residential areas in Sumy last night. Seventeen people were injured, including a child.

Multi-story buildings were damaged, fires broke out, and residents were evacuated. In total, 11 apartment buildings, a kindergarten, and approximately 10 cars were damaged.
