Lukich, Badoiev, Ruban, Gudimov, Uryvsky, and Troitsky join Thousand Spring program experts – Bereznha

Experts for the "Thousand Spring" cultural product support program will include film director Antonio Lukich, director Alan Badoiev, animation director Oleksandra Ruban, musician Pavlo Gudimov, and theater directors Ivan Uryvsky and Vladyslav Troitsky, announced Tetiana Berezhna, Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine.

"In the second stage, experts will evaluate the applications that passed. Among these experts are individuals with outstanding achievements in Ukrainian culture… These people know which projects are successful and whether an applicant can create a successful project," Berezhna said during a telethon.

In particular, the Vice Prime Minister noted that, among others, the experts will include Antonio Lukich, Ivan Uryvsky, Alan Badoiev, Oleksandra Ruban, Pavlo Gudimov, and Vladyslav Troitsky.

Previously, Berezhna reported that project experts would include director Mstyslav Chernov, film producer Volodymyr Yatsenko, choreographer Olena Koliadenko, journalist Yuliia Tymoshenko, producer Volodymyr Zavadiuk, director of the Ukrainian House National Center Olha Vieru, and head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance (UINR) Oleksandr Alforov.

According to her, the list of experts who will evaluate projects in the competition commissions will be further determined by an order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

To organize and conduct the competitions, commissions will be created in seven areas. Specifically, the Ministry of Culture will form a commission for selecting audiovisual shows and videos for social networks; the State Film Agency will form commissions for selecting audiovisual projects (feature films and series), non-fiction (documentary) films and series, and films for children and animation; the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education will form commissions for projects in contemporary music, performing arts, and visual arts.

As reported, the Ministry of Culture on April 3 launched the submission of competition applications for the initiative to create Ukrainian cultural products (formerly "1000 Hours of Ukrainian Content," now "Thousand Spring").

The 2026 state budget provides UAH 4 billion for the implementation of this program. According to Berezhna, a maximum of 80% of the UAH 4 billion, or UAH 3.2 billion, will be allocated to the Thousand Spring program this year.

Berezhna also stated that the ministry will propose allocating funds for the Thousand Spring program in the 2027 state budget.
