SBU urges citizens to be vigilant and follow safety rules during Easter
The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is recording regular attempts by Russia to destabilize the situation within Ukraine, particularly on the eve of and during major religious holidays such as Easter, and urges Ukrainians to be vigilant and observe safety rules.
"Despite the statements of Russia about a so-called ‘truce,’ enemy special services have not abandoned their plans, continuing to work against Ukraine and resorting to information-psychological special operations, provocations, terrorist acts, and sabotage," the SBU noted on its Telegram channel on Friday.
The agency emphasizes that SBU officers are systematically acting proactively to prevent the majority of such crimes.
According to the report, the Ukrainian special service regularly exposes Russian agents involved in the artificial incitement of conflicts between representatives of different confessions and religious communities.
"In parallel, SBU counterintelligence is exposing enemy attempts to recruit Ukrainians for the preparation of terrorist attacks and the correction of air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of our state," the message says.
The SBU stresses: "The main ‘targets’ of Russia are places of mass gatherings of people, regardless of the purpose or location of peaceful objects."
According to the Ukrainian special service, SBU officers and other law enforcement agencies are working in an enhanced 24/7 mode to systematically counter threats. At the same time, the agency emphasizes that the vigilance and attentiveness of every citizen remain a vital component of security.
"The Security Service urges Ukrainians during the Easter period to: be especially vigilant when attending mass events; not succumb to provocations or incitement to illegal actions; report suspicious objects and individuals who may be organizing provocations or posing a potential threat to law enforcement; report contacts with strangers who offer ‘easy money’; not ignore air raid signals and remain in shelters; provide assistance to other citizens if necessary; and observe the established curfew," the report states.
The Ukrainian special service reminds citizens that the SBU operates a 24-hour special hotline at 1516. Contact can also be made via other channels: the "Burn the FSB Agent" chatbot (t.me/spaly_fsb_bot) and email (callcenter@ssu.gov.ua).
