MP Herasymov says plans in place for military administration in Pivdennoukrainsk, where NPP located
Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction in the Verkhovna Rada Artur Herasymov has said there are alleged plans to set up a military and civil administration in the city of Pivdennoukrainsk in Mykolaiv region, where Pivdennoukrainsk (South Ukraine) nuclear power plant is located, according to a statement published on the party's website on Thursday.
"Energoatom, together with the President's Office and Mykolaiv regional administration, now wants to create a military and civil administration in Pivdennoukrainsk in order to gain full control over the city's budget. Let me remind you that this is where Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plant is located," Herasymov said during a speech in parliament.
According to him, the plan is to use as a pretext the fact that Pivdennoukrainsk city council has not been functioning for more than three months. The MP claimed that representatives of the ruling political force and NPP employees who are members of the city council are allegedly being urged to skip sessions, and that "this is happening right now."
"Members of Pivdennoukrainsk city council from European Solidarity and others have sent a letter to Zelenskyy asking him to intervene in this situation," Herasymov said.
