First IDP families receive apartments in modular town from URCS in Sumy region

The first families of internally displaced persons (IDPs) have received apartments in a modular town built by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in the Sumy region.

"The first 10 families from the category of internally displaced persons have moved into apartments in the modular town being built by the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Sumy region," the URCS reported on Facebook on Thursday.

The URCS has already transferred two buildings containing 32 apartments to the communal ownership of the Sumy city community. At the end of March, another building was commissioned. Plans are in place for the construction of three more buildings. In total, the project provides for 96 apartments for people who were forced to leave their homes due to the full-scale aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

The project is being implemented by the URCS with the support of the Swedish Red Cross and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) in partnership with local authorities.
