Russian forces are attempting to improve their tactical position in the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka agglomeration area, Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky said following working visits to hot spots along the front.

On his social media page he wrote that he had been working in the area of responsibility of the 19th Corps, which is defending the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka agglomeration.

"Russian occupation forces are attempting to improve their tactical position on this stretch by combining attacks by small infantry groups and massive drone strikes. For almost a year, corps units have been successfully repelling enemy attempts to capture Kostiantynivka, holding their positions and inflicting significant losses on the enemy," Syrsky said.

He stressed that the corps demonstrates a high level of adaptability to changes on the battlefield, making initiative-driven and non-standard decisions. Priority areas of work remain fire strikes on the occupiers’ rear logistics, neutralization of enemy infantry at the onset of assaults, and preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers under high-intensity combat conditions.

The commander-in-chief paid particular attention to analysing proposals from commanders regarding the urgent needs of units.

"Key aspects included issues of strengthening capabilities to counter enemy drone systems, ammunition supply, and other material and technical resources. Based on the results of the visit, a number of problematic issues raised by commanders on the ground were promptly resolved," the statement reads.

In addition, during his visit to the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Khartiya," Syrsky presented soldiers with honorary badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
