DOT agency to handle vehicle purchases for Defense Forces units – Fedorov

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has granted the procurement agency of the State Rear Operator (DOT) the status of a centralized procurement organization, allowing it to administer the ProZorro Market e-catalogue and effectively take over interaction with the market, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has said.

"We are closing another request from the military – speeding up the procurement of pickup trucks so that units receive vehicles promptly. What units previously had to do on their own will now be handled by DOT's procurement agency," he said on Telegram.

According to Fedorov, the agency will be responsible for key stages of procurement, including conducting market consultations, developing and standardizing technical requirements, setting qualification criteria, and selecting and vetting suppliers.

"It will be enough for a unit to choose a category and specification in the catalog, and the system will automatically identify the supplier with the best offer among verified vendors. At the first stage, the catalog will also include motorcycles, quad bikes and buggies – mobility assets that provide units with maneuverability. Our task is to make procurement as simple, fast and efficient as possible," the minister said.

The next step will be to expand the list of goods available to Defense Forces customers.
