Zelenskyy, Norwegian PM discuss defense industry cooperation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, during which they discussed, among other things, the global security situation and bilateral cooperation in the defense industry, primarily in the field of air defense.
"We discussed with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store the situation in the world in general and our bilateral work in particular. We are counting greatly on results in communication with the American team – we all need them. We are also preparing our joint work with European partners for the coming days and weeks," Zelenskyy said on Telegram.
Zelenskyy told Store about his meetings and talks in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
"There are already important agreements in place, and the circle of countries interested in security cooperation with us is expanding. Ukraine is open to equally effective cooperation with European countries, and the relevant groundwork has already been laid by our bilateral agreements on defense production and other joint measures," the president said.
He added that it was "natural" for Ukraine and Norway to be security partners.
"Norway is one of the leaders in supporting Ukraine, and it is logical that it is natural for us to be security partners. I discussed concrete steps with Jonas, and our teams will work on this. Our approach is long-term partnership that can strengthen both us and our partners. And first and foremost, this concerns protecting the sky," Zelenskyy said.
