Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported on the growing role of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in the evacuation of the wounded amid the active use of FPV drones by Russia.

As the commander-in-chief wrote on Telegram, intensive drone attacks significantly complicate the removal of even the lightly wounded, which requires new solutions, including the use of UGVs with armored capsules and the development of underground medical infrastructure.

According to him, a total of 548 evacuation missions were carried out from combat areas in March using road and rail transport, as well as helicopters.

Syrsky noted that to speed up the evacuation of the wounded, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasingly involving unmanned ground vehicles; however, the need for UGVs with armored capsules and for armored transport remains high.

A network of underground stabilization points is also being built at a safe distance from the line of contact.

The commander-in-chief noted some progress in the general statistics regarding "tourniquet syndrome."

"According to the report of the Medical Forces Command, we have some progress in the general statistics of tourniquet syndrome manifestations. It is possible to achieve a reduction in the number of limb amputations among the wounded thanks to certain improvements in medical support and the training of servicemen," he informed.
