Road accident kills 1, hospitalizes 4 in Kharkiv – police
Around 6:00 in Kharkiv, in the area of the intersection of Arkhitektora Alyoshyna Street and Heroiv Kharkiv Avenue, an accident occurred following a collision between a Mitsubishi Pajero and a BMW 540, resulting in one death and four injuries.
"It was preliminarily established that when entering a regulated intersection, the fifty-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi ignored road sign requirements and failed to grant the right of way to the BMW. As a result of the crash, the fifty-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero died on the spot from his injuries. Two passengers of the Mitsubishi, as well as the twenty-four-year-old female driver and a twenty-five-year-old female passenger of the BMW, were taken to a medical facility with physical injuries," reports the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.
Information regarding the accident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 (violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons managing transport vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
