Three days of Russian strikes on facilities in Poltava region claim life of Naftogaz employee Roman Chmykhun
For the third consecutive day, Russia has been carrying out massive attacks on gas production assets of the Naftogaz Group in Poltava region, resulting in the death of process equipment operator Roman Chmykhun, said Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretsky.
"Tragically, during one of the attacks, Russian forces killed our colleague – 55-year-old Roman Chmykhun, a process equipment operator. Our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and the entire team," Koretsky wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
The head of Naftogaz noted that this is already the second painful loss for the group this week alone.
As reported, on March 26, as a result of another Russian artillery strike on the Kherson combined heat and power plant, a chemical department worker, Olha Basenko, was killed.
Regarding the consequences of the attacks on gas production facilities in Poltava region, Koretsky specified that during the night and morning, Russian forces struck three production sites with drones.
"All relevant services are working at the sites. Operations at the affected equipment have been halted, and efforts to eliminate the aftermath are ongoing," the Naftogaz chief said.
