Rubio denies weapons for Ukraine been diverted, but says it could happen

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday denied that Washington had begun redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) because of the conflict in the Middle East, but acknowledged that such a scenario was possible.

"Nothing has been diverted. But it could happen," he said in response to a journalist’s question.

He noted that weapons sold under the PURL framework are originally American, so if the United States needs to replenish its own stockpiles, that would be the priority.
