TCC official in Volyn suspected of using excessive force against 60-year-old man during mobilization attempt
State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) officers have detained the head of a group from one of the Kovel District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC) departments who, along with other servicemen, used excessive force against a 60-year-old man during an attempted mobilization.
"The incident occurred on March 20 in the village of Zabolottia, Kovel district. According to the investigation, three TCC employees approached a local resident who was fishing and began using physical force against him. Despite the fact that the man is not subject to conscription due to his age, they twisted his arm behind his back and broke a bone with displacement. Following this, one of the servicemen used a stun gun and sprayed a pepper canister in the man’s face, causing chemical burns to the eyes. They also damaged his car tires so he could not drive away," the SBI press service reported.
It is noted that due to the beating, the victim sustained moderate bodily injuries, resulting in a prolonged health disorder.
Law enforcement officers notified the group leader of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional moderate bodily injury. The court selected a preventive measure of house arrest for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Investigators are also preparing suspicions for other participants in the incident.
