Sybiha and Rubio hold talks on sidelines of G7 ministerial meeting in France

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in France.

"The role of the US in advancing peace efforts remains critical. Ukraine’s proposals are realistic and feasible. Pressure on Russia is key to forcing Moscow to end the war," Sybiha wrote on X following the conversation.

He added that he discussed developments in the Middle East with Rubio.

"Ukraine’s position is that the regimes in Moscow and Tehran are cooperating to continue the war. Both must face consolidated pressure. Ukraine’s practical assistance to the Gulf states in protecting against Iranian terror has demonstrated our role as a security partner and contributor," the minister noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that the issue of countering Russian aggression against Ukraine must remain among the priorities of the international agenda.
