Latvia begins CVR(T) armored vehicle transfers to Ukraine – Fedorov

Defense Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and Defense Minister of Latvia Andris Spruds discuss developing joint projects and strengthening defense cooperation, focusing on armored vehicles; Latvia has now started transferring batches of CVR(T) armored fighting vehicles to Ukraine.

"Met with Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds. Discussed developing joint projects and strengthening defense cooperation. Latvia has begun transferring batches of CVR(T) armored fighting vehicles to Ukraine. Deliveries are ongoing — the equipment is arriving to strengthen battalion units," Fedorov said on Telegram on Wednesday morning.

He also notes that he expresses gratitude to Latvia for systemic support of Ukraine — specifically, for the decision to annually allocate 0.25% of GDP for assistance and participation in the PURL program.

According to Fedorov, the meeting focused on key areas:

1.  Strengthening units at the front. The transfer of CVR(T) enhances mobility and protection for the military.

2.  Drone coalition and technologies. Latvia is a leader in the Drone Coalition — a platform for coordinating, scaling solutions, and sharing combat experience. We are developing joint projects in the field of UAVs, specifically FPV, deep strike, and middle strike.

3.  Joint defense projects. We discussed developing cooperation in the defense industry and launching new production facilities and technological solutions.

"Separately, we presented the main tools for implementing the war plan — the Drone Line and the basic level of providing brigades with drones. Our goal is to achieve a level of enemy losses where its further advancement becomes impossible," Fedorov said.
