Government expands housing assistance for IDPs – PM

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced changes regarding the provision of housing assistance for internally displaced persons (IDPs), reported First Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

"We are extending the duration of payments. Now the most vulnerable categories of displaced persons will be able to receive state support for another six months. We are also strengthening support for children among IDPs. Regardless of family income, the payment will be assigned starting February 1, 2026, if the application is submitted by May 1, 2026," Svyrydenko wrote on her Telegram channel.

In addition, the government has updated the review of payments for disabled IDPs. According to Svyrydenko, this refers to those whose housing payments were previously terminated due to exceeding the income limit. Due to the increase in the subsistence minimum, such individuals can now submit documents for a review.

"In case of filing an application by May 1, 2026, payments will be accrued from January 1, 2026. If you apply later, the accrual will take place from the month of application," she said.
