Petition to Cabinet to demobilize military personnel over 55 years old gains only 173 votes

A petition on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine calling for the demobilization of military personnel over 55 years old who have served for more than three years failed to gather the number of votes required for consideration.

According to the platform on the government website, the petition was submitted on December 22, 2025, and as of March 23, it gained only 173 votes out of the 25,000 required.

"Grant the right to discharge from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to servicemen aged 55+ years who have served 3+ years and received combatant status," the text of the petition stated.

General mobilization is in effect in Ukraine, covering men liable for military service aged 25-60.
