President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov to involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the military to assess existing international initiatives regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the real readiness of countries around the world to participate in stabilization missions.

“We also discussed opportunities for international cooperation to restore security in the Strait of Hormuz. I tasked Rustem Umerov with involving Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our military to assess existing international initiatives concerning the Strait of Hormuz and the real readiness of countries to participate in stabilization missions,” Zelenskyy wrote on the Telegram channel on Friday following Umerov’s report on work in the Middle East.

The President said that he expects concrete results of the assessment in the near future.

“Importantly, all our partners acknowledge Ukraine’s global role in ensuring security and the high quality of Ukraine’s security expertise for the protection of life. Glory to Ukraine!” he noted.

As is known, the Strait of Hormuz was effectively blocked by Iran after Israel and the United States launched a military operation against Tehran.
