Ukraine and Montenegro signed memorandum of cooperation in European integration

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka and Minister for European Affairs of Montenegro Maida Gorcevic have signed memorandum of cooperation in direction of European integration.

According to message from Office of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, document provides in particular for: exchange of experience in conducting negotiations on joining EU; joint work on harmonization of legislation with EU law and its implementation; cooperation in spheres of rule of law, anti-corruption, judicial reform, and public administration; development of joint initiatives, projects, and expert exchanges; strengthening of institutional capacity and training of civil servants; coordination in matters of green transformation and digital development.

Memorandum also provides for regular meetings of negotiating teams and systemic coordination between responsible institutions of both countries.

"During meeting with Director General of European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) Gert Jan Koopman, main attention was paid to further promotion of negotiation process. Ukraine confirmed determination in continuing reforms, particularly in spheres of rule of law and fight against corruption, with intention to complete necessary preparatory steps by 2027," message says.
