The total area of Russian occupation of Ukraine increased by 34.41 square kilometers last week, from March 9 to March 15, which is less than the week before, when the occupiers managed to capture 43.49 square kilometers, according to maps from the OSINT project of DeepState.

Meanwhile, along the main axes of the front in Donetsk region, the enemy was able to capture a larger area (11.7 square kilometers) than the week before last (6.95 square kilometers), primarily due to advances near the village of Horikhove near the administrative border with Dnipropetrovsk region. However, in the area of Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, the enemy’s advance was completely halted. Enemy advances in other sectors of the front in Donetsk region were insignificant. The total penetration area in these axes increased by only 2.6 square kilometers over the week.

However, in Oleksandrivka and Huliai-Pole directions, along the administrative border of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia regions, the enemy’s advance has slowed. Last week, the enemy captured 10.88 square kilometers there, compared to 15.8 square kilometers the week before. The penetration area increased slightly in Huliaipole direction, but decreased in Oleksandrivka direction, decreasing by 6.5 square kilometers overall.

The occupiers’ advance in Sumy region near the village of Hrabivske, where the enemy managed to capture over 20 kilometers last week, stalled this week. However, the enemy captured 0.94 square kilometers near the village of Besalivka near the border, establishing a new offensive bridgehead. They also expanded their occupation area north of Sumy by 4.46 square kilometers, where the front line had remained unchanged since January. The area of penetration also increased, but only by 0.31 square kilometers.

Last week, the enemy also advanced in Luhansk region for the first time since July 2025, capturing a 6.43 square kilometer area between the villages of Hrekivka and Makiyivka. This reduced the area of penetration by 1.64 square kilometers.

There were no changes on other front lines last week.

Thus, the total area of occupied Ukrainian territory increased by 34.41 square kilometers over the week, while the penetration zone decreased by 5.21 square kilometers.

Last week, the occupiers advanced an average of 4.9 square kilometers per day, while the penetration zone decreased by an average of 0.7 square kilometers per day.
