Trump says Biden helped Ukraine because he 'taken to the cleaners'
U.S. President Donald Trump said that Americans allegedly do not need to cooperate with European partners on Ukraine.
During a lunch with members of the board of the Trump-Kennedy Center on Monday, Trump commented on the reluctance of European countries to send ships to assist U.S. forces in Iran. He said the United States had helped Europeans – including in Ukraine – even though it was not obliged to do so, adding that the U.S. joined the effort because Biden "got taken to the cleaners."
"We spend a lot of money on, you know, NATO and all these things to protect you [Europeans]. I mean, we protect them. We work with them on Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles away, separated by a vast ocean. We don't have to do that, but we did it. Well, Biden did it. I mean, I have to be honest with you. Biden got taken to the cleaners. But we worked with them on Ukraine. We don’t need to work with them on Ukraine," Trump said.
