16 Ukrainian citizens evacuated from the Middle East – MFA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports that on March 11-12, 2026, in cooperation with the Polish MFA, it conducted a stage of evacuation for Ukrainian citizens from the Middle East region to Warsaw.
"Ukrainian diplomats in Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait ensured the evacuation of 16 Ukrainian citizens who found themselves in a difficult situation due to hostilities in the region," the ministry stated on its Telegram channel on Thursday.
The diplomatic agency expressed gratitude to its Polish colleagues for organizational support and to the EU for its coordinating role. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha noted that the protection of Ukrainian citizens in the region remains under personal control, as approximately 250,000 Ukrainians are estimated to be in the Middle East following the recent regional escalation involving Iran.
