Zelenskyy: I hope American friends will now be more inclined to sign drone deal
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the White House has not yet approved a major agreement between the United States and Ukraine regarding the production of drones.
"We wanted to sign a major deal with the US for the production of drones, but we needed White House approval. This involved various types of drones and air defense. They work as a unified system and can protect against hundreds or thousands of Iranian Shahed UAVs and missiles. We have not yet had the opportunity to sign this document. I hope that perhaps our American friends will now be more inclined toward such a decision, especially after the challenges we are seeing in the Middle East," he stated in an interview with Gordon Repinski, Executive Editor of Politico in Germany.
The President emphasized that such a deal would not only strengthen Ukraine’s defense but also create a strategic technological alliance capable of countering the mass use of loitering munitions.
