Parties agree to stay in touch – Witkoff on meeting with Putin's envoy Dmitriev

U.S. Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, along with White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum, held a meeting with Putin’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev. Witkoff announced this on the X network on Wednesday.

"Today in Florida, a Russian delegation led by Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with a U.S. delegation, which included Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum. The parties discussed a range of issues and agreed to remain in touch," Witkoff wrote on X.

According to supplementary reports, the meeting focused on the global energy crisis following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Kirill Dmitriev noted that the discussions included potential projects to restore Russian-American relations and the role of Russian energy in global market stability. The talks occurred as the U.S. administration considers easing certain sanctions on Russian oil to mitigate rising energy prices.
