Ukraine must give EU timeline for possible restoration of Druzhba oil pipeline – Zelenskyy
During recent talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa, Ukraine agreed to provide EU leaders with a timeline for the possible restoration of technical operations on the Druzhba oil pipeline, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"Regarding the Druzhba oil pipeline, we are discussing this issue with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and also with President Costa. In our latest conversations, we agreed that Ukraine must provide the EU presidents with a date for possible restoration, meaning when the technical capability will be repaired," Zelenskyy told journalists during a meeting with Bundestag President Julia Klöckner.
The Ukrainian president recalled that restoring the technical capability of the Druzhba pipeline would take one and a half or two months. At the same time, restoring the storage reservoirs destroyed by Russian missile strikes would take six months, he said.
Zelenskyy also said Odesa-Brody oil pipeline also needs to be restored.
Speaking about a group of people who arrived from Hungary, the president said he was "not aware" of what the "delegation" was doing in Ukraine.
