Russia has been attacking oil pipeline facilities in southern Ukraine for two days in a row - Naftogaz head
Russian aggressors have been attacking oil pipeline pumping stations in southern Ukraine for two days in a row, aiming to prevent alternative supplies of non-Russian oil to European countries, said Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Ukrainy.
"For two days in a row, Russians have been attacking oil transportation infrastructure in southern Ukraine with drones… But the reason for the deliberate attacks on pumping stations in the south is obvious – to make alternative supplies of non-Russian oil to Europe impossible," Koretsky wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to him, damage and destruction were recorded at one of the pumping stations, but fortunately, people are alive. The cleanup of the aftermath of the attacks continues.
Koretsky emphasized that this is far from the first attack on various sections of Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure, noting that the true purpose of the strikes and destruction of the Druzhba oil pipeline pumping station in Brody will sooner or later be revealed.
According to him, since the beginning of this year, Russia has carried out more than 30 attacks on Naftogaz Group infrastructure facilities.
As reported on Tuesday, March 10, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, regarding activities in the oil and gas sector, noted that Ukraine’s plans include the development of oil and gas projects: the expansion of the Vertical Gas Corridor, the use of Ukrainian gas storage facilities, and the resumption of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline.
