Syrsky after his trip to Donetsk region: Certain lines being held, offensive operations being carried out in some places
In the context of modern warfare, where the concept of "forward" is blurred, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding certain lines and, in certain sections of the front, conducting their own active offensive operations, reported General Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, following a visit to units and subdivisions of the Defense Forces in Donetsk region.
"I worked in units and subdivisions of the Defense Forces in Donetsk region. I met with corps, brigade, and battalion commanders who carry out combat missions daily in the most difficult areas of the front," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
"The nature of the war at this stage is such that the concept of a ‘front line’ is becoming blurred, and in many areas, the mutual ‘infiltration zones’ for small infantry groups can extend beyond 10 kilometers. Despite the enemy’s constant attempts to penetrate deep into our lines, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding certain lines, and in certain sections of the front, they are conducting their own active offensive operations," Syrsky added.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that, after determining the specifics of combat operations in this particular section of the front, decisions were made to strengthen the resilience of the defense and improve logistics.
According to him, the enemy is suffering significant, in some places critical, losses in manpower and equipment. Ukrainian units are effectively using unmanned aerial vehicles, artillery, and remote-controlled mines, consistently reducing the combat potential of Russian troops and disrupting their offensive plans.
"I am grateful to every service member for their fortitude, effectiveness, and dedication to military duty," Syrsky concluded.
