Oleksandr Dovhach, commander of 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, killed in eastern axis – AFU Air Forces
On Monday, March 9, the commander of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Oleksandr Dovhach, died during a flight in the eastern direction, the Air Force command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
"This afternoon, March 9, 2026, in the eastern front, under significant enemy air superiority and powerful enemy air defense systems, Colonel Oleksandr Dovhach, commander of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade and Hero of Ukraine, died. He once again carried out a combat mission, unfortunately, at the cost of his own life," the Telegram channel said.
It is noted that Dovhach took part in the fight against the occupiers from the first days of the full-scale invasion and flew hundreds of combat sorties defending Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions, as well as Zmiyinny Island (Snake Island).
The circumstances of Dovhach’s death are being investigated.
