Zelenskyy: Ukraine receives 11 requests for assistance in connection with Iranian strikes
Ukraine has received 11 requests for assistance in connection with Iran’s strikes, and some of these requests have already been met with specific support, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported following a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
"I held a meeting of the Staff. First and foremost, regarding the destabilization due to the war in Iran and the corresponding risks to global markets, regional countries, and Ukraine’s closest partners who support us in our defense against Russia. The issue is complex: all these events in the Middle East and the Gulf region directly affect Europe — and Ukraine in particular — as well as other parts of the world, critical supplies to Ukraine, and the security and well-being of our people," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.
According to him, the Staff heard reports from the Secretary of the NSDC, heads of intelligence, the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Minister of Defense. "We analyzed the main prospects of this war in Iran and the possible consequences of its prolongation. We also reviewed in detail the requests from states for security support from our side — in countering Shahed (UAVs) and other similar challenges."
As Zelenskyy reported, as of now, there are 11 requests from Iran’s neighbors, European states, and America. "There is a clear interest in the Ukrainian experience of protecting lives, relevant interceptors, EW systems, and training. Ukraine is ready to respond positively to requests from those who help us protect the lives of Ukrainians and Ukraine’s independence. We have already responded to some of the requests with specific decisions and specific support."
